Service

By installing the FocusScore Chrome extension, accessing the FocusScore website at focusscore.ai, creating an account, or otherwise using the service, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the service.

These Terms form a legally binding agreement between you (“User”) and FocusScore.ai(“we”, “us”, or “our”). “Service” refers to the FocusScore Chrome extension, web dashboard, APIs, and any related products or features.

FocusScore is a digital attention measurement tool that analyses anonymous behavioural signals from supported web platforms (YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, Reddit, Twitter/X, LinkedIn) to compute a real-time Focus Score (0–100). The service includes:

• A Chrome extension that observes on-page behaviour locally
• A web dashboard for reviewing focus trends and analytics
• Platform-specific insights and 30-day history
• Weekly email reports with AI-generated focus insights
• Optional content filtering (Shorts blocker, Reels hider, keyword blocker)
• A Focus Timer for structured work sessions

The core extension is provided free of charge. Premium features may be introduced in the future with advance notice to registered users.

You may use FocusScore without an account using a pseudonymous ID. Optionally, you may register with an email address to unlock dashboard history, reports, and cross-device sync.

You are responsible for:

• Keeping your account credentials confidential
• All activity that occurs under your account
• Notifying us immediately at support@focusscore.ai of any unauthorised use

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.

You agree not to use the service to:

• Violate any applicable law or regulation
• Circumvent security, authentication, or rate-limiting measures
• Submit false, misleading, or automated data to inflate or distort analytics
• Use the service in any way that could damage, disable, or impair our servers or systems
• Harass, abuse, or harm other users
• Use automated means to access the Service except through official APIs
• Resell, sublicense, or commercially redistribute the Service without written permission

You retain ownership of your personal behavioural data. By using the Service, you grant FocusScore.ai a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to process your anonymised data solely to compute your Focus Score, deliver insights, and improve the Service. This licence does not extend to selling or sharing your personal data with third parties.

These Terms do not grant you any rights to FocusScore.ai's intellectual property except the strictly limited right to use the Service as described in Section 6.

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, FocusScore.ai grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the FocusScore extension on devices you personally own, and to access the web dashboard, solely for your own personal, non-commercial focus improvement.

This licence expressly excludes any right to:

• Access, copy, or distribute the source code
• Reverse-engineer or decompile any component of the Service
• Create competing products or services based on FocusScore
• Sub-license or transfer your right to use the Service to any other person

You expressly agree that you will not, and will not assist any third party to:

• Clone or copy the product: Create any extension, application, website, or service that is substantially similar to, derived from, or replicates the functionality, design, user experience, or scoring methodology of FocusScore.
• Replicate the algorithm:Use knowledge of FocusScore's Focus Score methodology, behavioural signals, or data models — gained through use of the Service — to build, fund, or advise any competing attention-measurement or focus-scoring product.
• Copy design assets:Reproduce FocusScore's user interface design, visual identity, design tokens, colour system, or component library in any other product.
• Reverse-engineer for competition: Disassemble, decompile, or reverse-engineer any part of the Software for the purpose of competing with FocusScore.ai.
• Misuse the brand: Use the FocusScore name, logo, or trademarks in any competing product, domain, company name, or marketing material.

FocusScore.ai reserves the right to seek immediate injunctive relief, account for profits, statutory damages, and any other remedy available at law or in equity against any person or entity that violates this section.

Your use of FocusScore is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. Please read it to understand how we collect, process, and protect your information.

You can export or permanently delete all your data at any time from the dashboard settings or by emailing support@focusscore.ai. Deletion requests are fulfilled within 30 days.

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free. Focus Scores are heuristic estimates based on behavioural patterns, not clinical measurements.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, FocusScore.ai shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service.

Our total aggregate liability to you shall not exceed the greater of £10 (ten pounds sterling) or the amount you paid us in the preceding 12 months.

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless FocusScore.ai and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from:

• Your violation of these Terms
• Your infringement of any third-party intellectual property right
• Any content you submit through the Service
• Your violation of any applicable law or regulation

You may stop using the Service at any time by removing the Chrome extension and deleting your account. We may suspend or terminate your access at any time for violations of these Terms, with or without notice.

Upon termination, Sections 5, 6, 7, 9, 10, 11, 13, and 14 survive and remain in full force.

We may update these Terms at any time. If we make material changes, we will notify registered users by email and display a notice on the website at least 14 days before the changes take effect.

Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance. If you do not agree to the revised Terms, you must stop using the Service before the effective date.

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Any dispute arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, except that FocusScore.ai may seek injunctive or other equitable relief in any jurisdiction to protect its intellectual property.

If you are a consumer based in the European Union, you may also have rights under the law of your country of residence that cannot be overridden by contract.
